Regained Confidence

Success Story

For the first time in my life (I'm 51) I was experiencing unemployment. My confidence was shattered and I really didn't know what to do next.

Thanks to a combination of workshops through Connect Job Seeker Center and ProMatch, I was able to reclaim my gifts and talents and re-package myself.

Through networking I was able to find an opportunity that I would not have been able to find on my own. Plus, I'm making more money than I ever have before. So yeah, the economy sucks, but it isn't all bad news.

Advice for Job Seekers

If you don't know what type of work to look for, take the Career Assessment series through Connect.

Seriously develop a marketing plan through the Marketing Yourself workshop through ProMatch.

Networking: it works!

Most importantly, get over yourself. If you find you continually disregard the advice and suggestions of others, (particularly Connie and Bob!) well you may not really want to make the changes necessary to get a job.
