Re-Discovery

Success Story

I was laid off in November 2009, after a spell at an outplacement firm, I joined the ProMatch(1) waiting list. In the meantime I polished up my resume, networked, and joined the roller-coaster ride of job searching. Eventually joined ProMatch in April 2010. Job searching is a "lonely" pastime, and joining an organization where everyone else was experiencing the same as me really helped. I met a lot of really good helpful people, and of course the excellent guidance/direction provided by Connie, Bob & Rosie was impressive. I particularly enjoyed the guest speakers that showed up at every Thursday business meetings. Consequently, with their collective wisdom/experiences ringing in my ears, I re-discovered myself. My career has spanned: Banking, Insurance and 25+ years in high-tech, I decided to start off on a completely different path - I invested in a franchise business "College Nannies & Tutors"; so will this be a success? who knows, but I'm certainly going to give it a shot. Although I am experiencing some trepidation, I am very optimistic, and very excited to get going when I open the proverbial doors in September!
