I joined ProMatch(1) where I learned lots of skills towards finding a job. I made so many friends and started to open up myself during networking with them.
I kept thinking there would be a job for me. Every time I applied for a job I was prepared to fail. When I was turned down for a position, I still sent a "thank you" email to the hiring manager as I never know if they would come back to me. One company interviewed me for a senior technician position and the manager said I am over qualified. They hired someone else. Two weeks later hiring manager wanted me back for another interview for a new engineer position he does not post online. If he offers me this job, I need to think carefully, as I have a four month contract job now.
The four month contract job came from a recruiter who found my resume on Monster. Recruiter asked me to use the key word "test" or "testing" wherever possible in my resume From phone interview, on-site interview, to second time on-site lab test demo and the job offer, it only took four days. I am not sure this contract job will become direct hire. Therefore, I am still looking around using ProMatch skills.
